People should be sensitised more about the various welfare schemes of Social Welfare and Social Education and Labour Department. More publicity should be given to the schemes. Only then common people can take advantage of these schemes. Minister of Social Welfare and Social Education Tinku Roy said this in a review meeting of North Tripura district-level Social Welfare and Social Education, Labour and Youth Affairs and Sports Department yesterday.
The meeting was held in the conference hall of North Tripura District Magistrate’s office. The meeting discussed on the progress of implementation of various schemes of Social Welfare and Social Education, Labour department and Youth Affairs and Sports Department.
In the review meeting, Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy said that Social Welfare Department should sincerely implement various schemes to prevent child marriage, create a drug-free society, and help the divyangjan people more. While reviewing the work of Labour Department, Labour Minister Tinku Roy said that the workers employed in agar industry and the workers employed in stone crushing should be covered with Employee State Insurance and regular health check-ups should be arranged for them.
In the review meeting, the officials of Social Welfare Department informed that in the last financial year, 689 divyangjans of this district have been given various moving aids, hearing aids etc. 29,691 people are getting social pensions under various schemes of the state government. 1.588 divyangans are among the recipients of such social pension Officials of Labour Department informed that 3,982 construction workers are registered in the district under the construction workers welfare scheme. 2,485 workers have registered online. 651 people have applied for education grants in the current financial year. Out of this, 60 applications have been approved.
Subhadhipati of North Tripura Zilla Parishad Bhabatosh Das, District Magistrate Nagesh Kumar B. Additional District Magistrate L. Darlong, Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Vivek HB, Kanchanpur Sub-Divisional Magistrate Rahul Modi, CMO Dr. Arunabh Dasgupta along with officials of various departments were present in the meeting. Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy handed over the keys of 3 vans to Jampuihill, Dasda and Damcherra Common Service Centres.
The scheme is being implemented by North Tripura District Mission Management Unit of Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission as part of Digital India programme.
Managment of Mobile Common Service Centre is entrusted to each Village Organization under respective blocks.
