Despite the Congress party not officially confirming Priyanka Gandhi’s visit to the state, Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Asish Kumar Saha stated on Thursday that she will indeed visit in December.
Saha encouraged fellow party members to come together and mobilize the public against the perceived mismanagement by the ruling BJP.
He asserted that Rahul Gandhi is also expected to visit the state, stating, “Priyanka Gandhi’s office has confirmed her visit this month, although the specific schedule is yet to be finalized. We will announce the details as soon as they are confirmed.”
The Congress party has been conducting meetings with leaders from various wings and organizations to assess ongoing political tasks and discuss preparations for Priyanka’s upcoming visit.
Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Asish Kumar Saha mentioned that CWC member Sudip Roy Barman visited Unakoti and Dharmanagar districts, while former minister Manindra Reang and others visited South Tripura district to engage with party leaders and activists.
In the previous month, state Congress leaders indicated that Rahul and Priyanka were expected to visit Tripura in the second or third week of December.
Recently, Congress secretary in-charge of Tripura Szarita Laitphlang mentioned that the visit’s finalization would occur after the announcement of the Assembly poll results in the five states.
Notably, during a brief visit on November 7, Rahul Gandhi stopped in Tripura en route to Mizoram before the Assembly election there. He conducted a meeting with Tripura Congress leaders, including Saha and CWC member Sudip Roy Barman, expressing his intention to revisit Tripura shortly after the elections concluded.
