Mohanpur, Dec 2: Power, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath has emphasized that quality education is the foundation of a corruption-free society and plays a crucial role in shaping the future of both the country and the state.
He was speaking at the fresher’s welcome ceremony of Mohanpur Swami Vivekananda College on Monday.
The minister said that the educational environment in schools and colleges differs significantly, with colleges offering greater freedom to students. Hence, the role of professors becomes even more important in guiding youth in the right direction, he added.
Stressing the need for reforms in the education sector, Nath highlighted the importance of promoting the vision of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” and “Ek Tripura Shreshtha Tripura”. He pointed out that in the current competitive era, quality education is essential to secure employment.
Referring to the impact of the National Education Policy (NEP), the minister noted that the pass rate in colleges has increased from 42 percent to 62 percent under the new system. He also urged teachers and guardians to motivate students to excel in their academic pursuits.
