Rampada Jamatia highlighted the developmental activities initiated by the department for the welfare of indigenous people across the state

A special project of about 1300 crore rupees has been taken up with the financing of the World Bank for the development of the tribal areas in the state and the socio-economic upliftment of the tribes.

This project will be implemented in 23 tribal dominated blocks of the state, especially 12 aspirational blocks.

Tribal Welfare Minister Rampada Jamatia said this in a press conference held at the Secretariat’s press conference hall on Tuesday.
The Minister said that special priority will be given to the livelihood of the people, improvement of their quality of life along with education and communication system in this project.

This project has been taken up for 5 years.
He also mentioned the economic development of the tribes of the state through the Chief Minister’s Rubber Mission implemented in the state.

In a press conference, the Tribal Welfare Minister added that the present state government has taken various initiatives to improve the quality of education in the areas inhabited by tribals.

16 Eklavya model residential schools are being developed in Tripura. He said that a new project called Supplementary Education for Elementary Classes (SEEC) -2022 has been launched with the aim of improving the quality of education of the students of tribal areas and enriching them through a modern education system.

This project will open 300 coaching centers across Tripura. Education under this scheme will be provided under the management of Tribal Welfare Department of the State Government.

Minister Jamatia said that the state government is implementing various educational programs to provide quality education to the tribal students.
Scholarships are being provided to tribal students.
