Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath presided over a review session on Sunday to guarantee continuous electricity supply throughout the election period in Tripura.

He urged officials to prioritize their efforts to prevent power outages in the state. Minister Nath conducted the meeting via video conference, involving the Managing Director of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) and officials from different districts.

Power Minister said, “As the monsoon season begins and the election process continues in Tripura, certain areas, particularly in Sepahijala and Unakoti Districts, are encountering difficulties due to natural disasters. I have instructed officials to accelerate all required efforts to promptly address these challenges. We conducted a virtual meeting to ensure swift action, especially until the 30th of this month, given the elections’ priority.”

Furthermore, he directed that no leaves should be sanctioned until the elections are concluded..

Nath also instructed two private agencies responsible for power operations in Tripura to increase their focus and commitment.
He said, “We are continuously working to improve service delivery throughout the state. In preparation for the elections, we have implemented specific measures and conducted a thorough review.”
