Silchar, Nov 1: A serious allegation of corruption has been raised against a ration dealer named Jayant Pal, a resident under Dhowarband Police Station in Sribhumi, Assam. Several local residents have accused him of cheating customers in matters related to ration card creation, LPG connections, and distribution of ration items.
One of the complainants, Pampa Das, a resident of Barajalenga, alleged that Jayant Pal had demanded ₹25,000 from her for making ration cards, even though the government provides ration cards free of cost.
Following these allegations, Silchar Supply Department Inspector Mukhidhar Das lodged an FIR against Jayant Pal at Dhowarband Police Station. The Dhowarband Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
