Section- 144 imposed in 6- Agartala and 8- Town Bordowali Assembly constituencies, which will effect from 21st June 5 PM to 24th June 5 AM.
The by-election is to be held on June 23 in four Constituencies in Tripura.
All kinds of steps have been taken so that peaceful and uninterrupted election could be done.
The District Magistrate of West Tripura Debopriya Bardhan said it to reporters on Tuesday June 21 afternoon during a press conference.
West Tripura SP J Reddy, Returning officer of 6-Agartala constituency Sailesh Jadav and 8-Town Bardowali constituency’s returning officer, Asim Saha were present in the conference.
Debopriya Bardhan said that 6-Agartala constituency has 55 poll centres and 51,639 voters. 8-Town Bardowali constituency has 56 poll centres and 46,583 voters.
He said that the votes of over 80-aged individuals, specially abled people and COVID infected people have already been collected with postal ballots.
He further said CRPF jawans are regularly monitoring the law and order situations of both constituencies.
CRPF will be present in each centre to ensure safety measures. DM said that areas of 8-Town Bardowali constituency has been divided into 7 sectors and 6 Agartala is divided into 8 sectors to increase security settings.
Already section 144 is enforced in 6 Agartala and 8 Town Bardowali constituencies from June 21 2022, 5 pm to June 24 2022, 5 am.
Besides, dry days are declared from June 21 to 23 and on June 26.
The District Magistrate said that sufficient security measures as well as several steps have been taken to ensure a peaceful and uninterrupted election.
