Agartala, Aug 11: A serious allegation has surfaced against Chanchala Dey, a member of the South Anandanagar Anandamayi Self-Help Group under Dukli Block, for allegedly selling her house and fleeing with around ₹40 lakh belonging to the group.
A written complaint has been lodged against her at the Dukli Block office and Srinagar police station. Other group members have alleged that several individuals from the group may be involved in the incident.
Today, the aggrieved members staged a protest in front of Chanchala Dey’s house, demanding a fair and thorough investigation.
Local panchayat members have also raised the matter before the media.
