Since inception of Swachha Bharat Mission, every year 2nd October is observed as Swachh Bharat Diwas to celebrate the Jan Andolon for Swachhata which is a tribute to the Mahatma on the day of his Jayanti.

As a prelude to Swachh Bharat Diwas 2023, the annual Swachhata Hi Seva fortnight is being jointly organized by Swachh Bharat Mission Urban and Grameen w.e.f. 17th September, 2023 to 2nd October, 2023.

‘Swachha Bharat Mission Urban, Directorate of Urban Development & Swachha Bharat Mission-Grameen, PWD (DWS) jointly appeals and invites all the citizens of Tripura to join their hands for Shraamdaan in collaboration with the Goverment of Tripura on 1″ Oct, 2023, at 10 am.

The theme of this year is to showcase the commitment of “YOUTH VS GARBAGE” and “TRIPURA VS GARBAGE”. “To uphold the commitment of our state a massive cleanliness drive led by citizens of Tripura is envisaged to be held on 1st Oct, 2023, at 10 am across all wards of ULB and each Gram Panchayat/Village Councils of Tripura.

EK Tareekh, EK Ghanta, Ek Saath campaign is intended to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on the eve of his birth anniversary on 2nd Oct, 2023, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Tripura and other dignitaries would also be joining the Swachhata activities on ground. Large citizen participation is being requested by each Urban & Rural bodies through miking & https://swachhatahiseva.com/ (citizens can log into this portal to find the location of the nearby event and participate in it) to make this a grand success.

This activity shall in turn lay a cornerstone for enhancing visual cleanliness to achieve “GARBAGE FREE TRIPURA”. Joint Secretary Rajat Pant has informed this in a Press Release.
