The Department of Youth Affairs and Sports is moving forward with the aim of organizing the National Games in Agartala in the coming days.
At present, the construction of 60 crore sports infrastructure in the state is progressing, which are expected to be inaugurated soon.
Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Sushanta Chowdhury said this while laying the foundation stone of the synthetic hockey field at Dasharath Deb Sports Complex in Badharghat on Friday.
He said, “you have to dream, or you can’t move forward. If Manipur, Assam can host the National Games, why can’t Tripura? Everything is possible here. One example of Deepa Karmakar’s work”.
The Minister added that the state government is working to make a reservation system for athletes in government jobs in the coming days.
The sports minister further added that the construction of football field at Umakanta Mini Stadium started in March this year, which was inaugurated a few days ago.
