The state government is giving utmost importance to the development of health services, education system and agriculture.
There are currently two medical colleges in the state. Initiatives have been taken to set up another medical college in the ADC area.
A site has already been earmarked for a new medical college at Ambasa. Dental Medical College will be established in IGM Hospital for which preparations are being finalised.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said this on Friday while inaugurating the 10th Eastern Regional Conference of Association of Physicians of India and 22nd Conference of API Tripura Branch at Government Medical College, Agartala.
He said, “the two medical colleges of the state started their journey almost simultaneously. We have learned a lot, and gained experience while running these two medical colleges. Those who teach in the college are also enriched with knowledge and experience.”
He added that at present, modern medical infrastructure is also being developed in primary health centers in the state.
The CM said that the state government has arranged for the promotion of doctors who have been stuck for a long time as well as making earnest efforts to solve the various problems of doctors.
He welcomed all those who came to the conference and wished success to the conference.
