The MBBS seat capacity at Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC), has been increased from 150 to 250 adding 100 more seats for aspiring medical students for academic year 2026-27.

This expansion will create greater opportunities for our youth and further strengthen Tripura’s medical education and healthcare ecosystem.

AGMC has now joined the league of premier Medical Colleges in the country like Maulana Azad Medical College (New Delhi), B. J. Medical College (Ahmedabad, Gujarat), Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (Karnataka), SMS Medical College (Jaipur, Rajasthan), Madras Medical College (Chennai, Tamil Nadu), King George’s Medical University (Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh etc which have intake capacity of 250 MBBS seats, maximum permissible by National Medical Commission.

A stronger medical education system today will build a healthier Tripura tomorrow.
