The tourism industry will become an alternative economy in the future in the state. The state government and the tourism department are constantly working to bring Nirmahal a tourism center to the world.
Government of India is also helping in various ways to make this tourist center attractive to tourists.
A proposed project of 75 crore to build state-of-the-art infrastructure around Nirmahal is awaiting approval from the central government.
Tourism Department Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said this while inaugurating the newly built tourism infrastructure. Under the Swadesh Darshan scheme of Government of India under the supervision of Department of Tourism, Government of Tripura various infrastructures have been put in place to provide better services at Nirmahal Tourist Centre.
