Tripura achieves substantial reduction in Infant Mortality Rate in SRS Report 2024!

Tripura State has achieved remarkable progress in mother and child health service by reducing the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR).

As per the Sample Registration System (SRS) Bulletin 2024 published by the Registrar General of India in May 2026, Tripura has recorded IMR of 12 as against All India IMR of 24. Over the last three years, Tripura has consistently reduced IMR from 17 (2022), 15 (2023) to 12 (2024) while the All India IMR stands at 26 (2022), 25 (2023) and 24 (2024).

Sustained improvements in maternal and child health services, institutional deliveries, SNCU/NBSU strengthening, immunization coverage, and community-based health interventions have contributed to this achievement.
