Tripura: BJP names Rajib Bhattacharjee as Rajya Sabha MP candidate

The Bharatiya Janata Party  announced its Tripura state president, Rajib Bhattacharjee, as its nominee for the lone Rajya Sabha seat from the state.

Rajib Bhattacharjee will contest the by-poll as the seat fell vacant following resignation of Biplab Kumar Deb, who contested from West Tripura Lok Sabha seat and secured a landslide victory.

The by-poll will be held on September 3 next.
