Agartala, July 11: On the occasion of Guru Purnima, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his “political guru” and expressed his heartfelt wishes for the day.

Speaking to reporters in Agartala after a meeting, the Chief Minister said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modiji is my political guru. I was inspired to enter politics by watching him. On this special occasion, I seek his blessings.”

Highlighting the deep-rooted tradition of the guru-shishya (teacher-disciple) bond in Indian culture, Dr. Saha recalled visiting his former teachers’ residences to seek their blessings over the years. He also informed the media that earlier in the day, he contacted one of his teachers currently living in Bangalore to convey his respects.

Concluding his address, Dr. Saha extended warm greetings to the people of Tripura on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima.
