Tripura government recruits 6,766 teachers in the last five years: CM Manik Saha

In the last three years in the state, 60 science teachers and 12 commerce teachers have been recruited through the Department of School Education.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said this in response to a question of MLA Ramu Das in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.

In the question and answer session on Wednesday, Chief Minister Saha further said, “The appointment of vacant posts is an ongoing process. Regular examinations are conducted to fill up the vacant posts through the Teachers Recruitment Board. After necessary approval from there, teachers are appointed to vacant posts.”

In a written reply to a question brought by Opposition leader Animesh Debbarma, the Chief Minister told that at present there are 1,300 Kokborok teachers in the primary schools of the state.

In response to a question raised by MLA Kishore Barman, the Chief Minister said, “The state government has been informed about the scheme announced by the central government to start 57 PM Shree (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) schools. After receiving the necessary financial approval, the project will start the infrastructure development work like construction of hostels for the students of these existing schools and accommodation for the teachers of the schools in most of the block areas of the state.”

In a written reply to a question of MLA Islam Uddin, the CM said that 7 secondary schools have been upgraded to higher secondary schools in the current financial year.

In a question to MLA Abhishek Debroy’s question, CM said that a proposal for opening Sainik schools in the state has been sent by the state government to the concerned authorities of the central government.

In reply to the Opposition leader Animesh Debbarma ‘s question, the Chief Minister said that vocational educational courses are currently active in 205 schools under the Samagra Siksha scheme.
