Tripura Legislative Assembly is also being turned into eVidhan Sabha

The Prime Minister of India is working to build Digital India through various initiatives. As a part of this, the state government has also started digitization in different govemment departments. Besides, the process of turning Tripura Legislative Assembly to eVidhan Sabha has commenced from today, enunciated Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha after inaugurating the Training programme on NEVA (National eVidhan Application) for all members of Tripura Legislative Assembly held today at the lobby of the Legislative Assembly.

Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Biswabandhu Sen, Deputy Speaker Ram Prasad Pal. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Opposition Party Leader Animesh Debbarma and members of the State Cabinet as well as MLAs were present in the programme. The Chief Minister said, this training being provided to the Cabinet members and the MLAs is the primary step towards setting up eVidhan Sabha.

As compared to other states of the country, turning Legislative Assembly of the state into eVidhan Sabha is a significant step for the state. Once the eVidhan Sabha is made properly functional, all the works of the Legislative Assembly will became paperless saving time and money. Besides, it will also simplify the complex processes of the Assembly to some extent. He said, NEVA was launched by the central government a part of Digital India.

The main objective of Digital India is to digitize everything. The state government has started the process to digitize different sectors of the government. Once the use of NEVA Application is started in the Legislative Assembly, collecting information will be much easier and data transfers will also speed up. Furthermore, the cost of Legislative Assembly management will decrease and be much

easier. Apart from that, voting process in Legislative Assembly will be simpler. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath said, The Prime Minister has always emphasized upon setting up digital system all over the country. The state government is also working emphasizing upon the same. As a result of eVidhan Sabha, not only time will be saved but it will also be helpful in terms of collecting information, will save money, voting process will be easier with e-voting system.

All the members of the Legislative Assembly will be provided training on NEVA Application till June 25 starting fom today. Hands on training will be provided to the MLAs on using tab, joining Vidhan Sabha, prompting question, voting process etc. Opposition Party Leader Animesh Debbarma said, papers and other materials are being used every day for managing the Legislative Assembly and as a result a lot of money is spent for these.

With the commencement of eVidhan Sabhu, management of the Legislative Assembly will be paperless and money saving. He called upon all the members of the Legislative Assembly to take forward role in setting up of eVidhan Sabha.

Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Biswabandhu Sen, Deputy Speaker Ram Prasad Pal and Secretary of the Assembly Bishnupada Karmakar also spoke on the occasion. The Chief Minister handed over tab to Speaker of the Legislative Assembly in the programme. The Chief Minister and other guests also handed over tab to the members of the Legislative Assembly
