A delegation from the Congress party, led by state NSUI president Samrat Roy, met with SDM (Sadar) Arup Deb to request the cancellation of fraudulent PRTCs (Permanent Residential Certificate of Tripura) issued to individuals from outside the state.

The delegation claimed that these fake certificates were obtained through the assistance of corrupt employees within the SDM office.

The Congress statement mentioned that this year, the central authority of Staff Selection Commission (SSC) had allocated a quota of 700 positions for recruitment from Tripura to various paramilitary forces.

The statement further stated, “Possessing a PRTC is a mandatory requirement for applicants from all states. A significant number of outsiders have come to Tripura in order to gain an unfair advantage in recruitment processes. These individuals managed to obtain fake PRTCs with the help of corrupt officials from the SDM office, through bribery.”

The statement added that many of these individuals with fraudulent PRTCs are planning to participate in the upcoming recruitment tests.

To safeguard the interests of Tripura, the NSUI’s Samrat Roy and his associates emphasized the urgent need for canceling these fake PRTCs before the medical tests scheduled to commence on July 17.

The delegation not only called for the immediate cancellation of the fraudulent PRTCs but also demanded that legal action be taken against those who obtained these false certificates.
