Tripura Police detained eight Bangladeshi nationals near Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala for allegedly entering India illegally.

Airport Police Station OC Sushanta Deb said four individuals were first stopped after being seen moving suspiciously around the airport premises. Following interrogation, four more were apprehended yesterday, bringing the total to eight.

All eight were produced before the Mohanpur Sub-Divisional Court today. Police said they are questioning the detainees to determine the purpose and circumstances of their alleged illegal entry. Further investigation is in progress.
