On January 6, Tripura Police apprehended an individual and confiscated cannabis valued at Rs 1 crore in Mungiakami, Khowai District.
Mungiakami Police station’s Officer-in-Charge Goutam Debbarma said, “Upon receiving information this morning regarding the smuggling of cannabis, we initiated vehicle checks at the 31 Mile Naka Point and intercepted one heading towards Ambassa.”
He added, “We found a hidden compartment while inspecting the detained vehicle. The compartment contains a significant quantity of cannabis.
The seized cannabis was packaged in 57 packets, with an estimated market value of Rs 1 crore.”
Officer-in-Charge further highlighted that the arrested driver is identified as Rahul Kumar and the truck started from Agartala.
