Chief Minister Prof. Dr.Manik Saha has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Badal Tripura (33) from Kaladepa under Manubazar Police Station.

Following allegations of misconduct by certain officials, the Sub-Inspector and Constable of Manubazar PS have been suspended with immediate effect. The Chief Minister has also ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident.

Five Tripura Police officers were suspended and arrested on Thursday following the death of a man, Badal Tripura, who was arrested three days ago in Manubazar, South Tripura district. His family alleged custodial torture led to his death.
