Tripura Politics: MP Biplab Kumar Deb lashes out at CPIM

CPIM is very weak and has become extinct in Tripura. Former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb said it while referring to the statement of Jitendra Chowdhury, CPIM State General Secretary.

The mercury of state politics is increasing centering the upcoming assembly elections 2023.

Discussions are going on regarding the possible political equation and alliance equations among political observers and others.

The discussion regarding the possible alliance between opposition parties, Congress, CPIM and TIPRA Motha is one of the trend in Tripura politics.

If these parties come under one umbrella, will they be successful?

Amidst the rumours of possible alliance, a statement of Jitendra Chowdhury ignited such discussions.

He earlier said that CPIM is discussing with Congress and Motha to restore democracy.

Discussions are positive. But the date of alliance formation or, when all will speak in the same tone is not yet decided.

Former CM and MP Biplab Deb strongly criticized CPIM based on Jitendra Chowdhury’s statement.

Deb said that the statement proves CPIM is very weak. Otherwise, the party secretary would not have said such things before 5 months of assembly election.

He also added that if CPIM could win elections, they would not have wanted support from others to win the election.

Biplab Deb brought reference to the strong tone of CPIM during 2018 assembly elections.

He said neither former CM Manik Sarkar nor party secretary sought anyone’s support to win elections, as CPIM believed that they can win alone in 2018 before election.

In this way, Biplab Deb criticized CPIM and tried to break down the morale of the CPIM party ahead of assembly elections 2023.
