Tripura Pradesh Congress Launches Door-to-Door Campaign Exposing Failures of Six-Year BJP Rule

The Tripura Pradesh Congress aimed at raising awareness about the alleged misrule of the BJP in Tripura, commenced from Friday morning.

Congress President Asish Kumar Saha actively participated, going door-to-door in and around Post Office Chowmuhani and nearby areas.

Asish Saha along with prominent Congress members, including former corporator Himmat Singh Routh and Subal Deb, engaged with residents of selected houses. They have distributed a detailed leaflet outlining the purported wrongdoings and the BJP’s claimed poor governance track record.

The designated area includes the right side of Post Office Chowmuhani, including the rear part of former Chief Minister Samir Ranjan Barman’s residence, Gitanjali apartment, and the adjacent officer’s quarter colony. These regions collectively form part of the Town Bardowali constituency, the assembly constituency of Asish Saha.

While speaking to the media, Asish Kumar Saha expressed concerns about the alleged divisive governance under the BJP in Tripura. He highlighted various issues, including a slowdown in government service recruitment leading to youth challenges, a halt in MGNREGA work contributing to poverty, and deteriorating law and order.

Asish Saha also criticized the BJP’s efforts to divide the state further, citing their support for a rally by ‘Janajati Suraksha Mancha’ demanding the delisting of converted tribals from ST status. He mentioned incidents like the alleged capture of a mosque in Chandrapur by BJP individuals, emphasizing the potential threat to peace and harmony.

On the other hand, Congress working committee member and MLA Sudip Roy Barman led a mass contact program in the Chandrapur Daspara area, distributed leaflets and discussing the perceived dangers of BJP’s governance with the people.

Both Sudip and Asish, emphasized the warm and overwhelming response from the common people, and stated that the month-long program will continue until January 15.
