The Thinfilms Nanoscience Laboratory of the Department of Physics, Tripura University, under the leadership of Prof. Syed Arshad Hussain, has brought international recognition to the University.
Dr. Farhana Yasmin Rahman, who completed her doctoral research on the design and development of eco-friendly memory devices using plant extracts for sustainable electronics, has demonstrated that several locally available plants, including lotus, rose and sajna (drumstick), can be used to fabricate low-cost, environmentally friendly electronic memory devices with the potential to complement future silicon-based technologies. Her innovative research has earned a German patent.

She has now been selected as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), Japan, where she will join the Ionic Device Group to develop transistor-based neuromorphic devices for next-generation computing.
