The Biotechnology Department of Tripura will be awarded the SKOCH Award-2021 for its College Biotech Club project.

Animesh Devvarma, the Minister of Science, Technology, and Environment for Tripura, made the announcement at a press conference held today at the State Pollution Control Board’s Conference Hall.

He highlighted that SKOCH is a renowned independent company in the country, focusing on key areas such as good governance, environmental protection, and innovative technology. Every year, SKOCH evaluates outstanding efforts by government agencies in various states, and this year, around five projects from 20 states were submitted for consideration. After thorough evaluation, the final results were announced.

In 2022, the Biotechnology Department had previously won the SKOCH Silver Award for its Biovillage 2.0 project.

Furthermore, a private company from Pune has shown interest in implementing the Biovillage 2.0 project in Tripura and has already visited several Biovillage sites.
