Kamalasagar, July 29: Tension erupted in the area adjacent to the Gokulnagar TSR camp under the Kamalasagar Assembly constituency after idols of Goddess Kali and Lord Mahadev were found vandalized in a local temple on Monday morning.

According to locals, the incident was discovered early in the day when residents noticed the damaged idols inside the temple premises. They alleged that a group of miscreants is attempting to disrupt the communal harmony of the region.

Upon receiving information, a team from the Bishalgarh Police Station promptly reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Police have imposed strict vigilance in the area to prevent any escalation and to ensure peace and order are maintained.

Authorities have appealed to the public to remain calm and cooperate with the investigation. No arrests have been made so far.
