Salema, Dhalai | May 29, 2025The inauguration ceremony of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan was successfully held today at the Salema Community Hall, organized by KVK Dhalai in collaboration with SA Salema. The event marked the beginning of a 12-day district-wide agricultural outreach programme, aimed at empowering farmers through awareness, interaction, and access to government schemes and modern technologies.
The programme was inaugurated by the Hon’ble MLA of 46-Surma constituency, Smt. Swapna Das Pal, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was presided over by Mrs. Bina Das Biswas, Chairperson of Salema Panchayat Samiti.
A large gathering of progressive farmers from across Dhalai district also participated in the programme.
On the first day, three dedicated outreach teams visited Salema, Singinala, and Mendi, conducting awareness activities, demonstrations, and farmer interactions.
During the inauguration, dignitaries shared valuable information about central and state agricultural schemes like PM-KISAN, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, and other support mechanisms available for farmers. They also emphasized the importance of adopting modern farming technologies to enhance productivity and resilience in the face of climate change.
A notable highlight of the event was the live farmer-to-farmer interaction session, where farmers candidly shared their challenges and received practical advice from experts and officials.
The Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan will continue for the next 11 days, with three teams covering three new locations daily, ensuring wide outreach and direct engagement with the farming community across Dhalai district.
