West Tripura Lok Sabha Constituency Returning Officer Dr. Vishal Kumar visited the strong room of Umakanta Academy in Agartala on Tuesday.

The EVMs of 14 assembly constituencies are secured in the strong room of Umakanta Academy through three-tier security after the completion of polling in West Tripura constituencies on April 19.

He said, “A few platoons of CRPF jawans have been deployed in the strong room for 24 hours. Moreover, 70 to 80 CCTV cameras are working 24 hours a day.”

The Returning Officer further said that almost every day the representatives of different political parties have been inquiring about the security of this strong room.

Besides, fire department personnel are visiting Umakanta school with their necessary equipment.

The administration is working to ensure that there is no problem on the day of counting of votes on June 4.
