
West Tripura District Magistrate Shailesh Kumar Yadav on Sunday informed Chief Secretary that since an inquiry committee has been formed for 26 April’s incident, for fairness of inquiry, he requested for the relinquishment of his charge as District Magistrate.
The Chief Secretary has accepted it.
Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath in a press conference informed this on Sunday.
After raiding two marriage halls during the night curfew a few days ago, West Tripura District Magistrate Shailesh Kumar Yadav on Sunday requested being removed from the post of District Magistrate for ‘fairness of inquiry’ into the incident.

“It is my duty to enforce law and order and to prevent the spread of Covid-19. I stand by whatever I did that night,” Yadav had told the committee.
