At least ten people died due to electrocution in Kolkata and its suburbs after heavy rains lashed the city on Monday night and the early hours of Tuesday (September 23) due to a low pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal.
The city received about 247. 5 mm rainfall in 24 hours till 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday (September 23), leading to waterlogging in several neighbourhoods. Suburban railway and metro services were disrupted.
