Agartala, October 07: Tipra Motha founder Maharaja Pradyot Kishore Debbarma has announced his decision to step away from active politics.

In a letter addressed to the people of Tripura, Pradyot said the decision was taken after “much thought and deep personal pain.” He stated that he will no longer hold any political office or participate in day-to-day political activities.

He clarified that the decision is not a temporary withdrawal or one made in anger, but a deeply personal decision following years of public service and reflection.

Maharaja Pradyot said he now wants to spend more time with his family, focus on his health and find a quieter chapter in his life, while remaining connected to the people of Tripura.
