AGARTALA — Tipra Motha has reaffirmed its dominant political foothold in the hill regions following the publication of the Autonomous District Council (ADC) village committee election results.
The regional party secured a massive victory, winning 3,428 out of 4,594 total seats, underscoring its organizational strength across tribal-dominated areas.
While Tipra Motha captured the vast majority of the seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 859 seats, granting the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) a notable combined presence in the local bodies.
Building on its previous success in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, Tipra Motha’s landslide victory highlights its firmly established influence across the state’s tribal belt.
The decisive victory in the hills sets a strong precedent ahead of the 2028 Tripura Legislative Assembly elections, raising questions among political analysts about how significantly this momentum will shape the state’s broader electoral landscape.
