In a political development in the Chamanu area, a total of 18 voters from eight families joined the TIPRA Motha Party on Friday, leaving different political parties.
The joining programme was held at the Tejendra Karbari area of East Chaomanu village.
The new members were formally welcomed into the party by draping them with party flags.
Youth Tipra Federation’s Chaomanu Block President Dharmendra Tripura, TIPRA Motha Party member Mohanlal Chakma and YTF member Shahen Joy Tripura were present at the programme and greeted the newcomers.
Party leaders expressed hope that the joining would further strengthen the organisation in the Chaomanu area.
