Agartala, March 7: Power and Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath inaugurated the programme by waving the green flag to dispatch the consignment. As part of the initiative, three metric tons of organic Kalikhasa and Harinarayan paddy produced by farmers of the state were sent to Kolkata by train.
Minister Animesh Debbarma and several senior officials of the department were present at the event.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the initiative aims to expand the market for Tripura’s organic agricultural products and enhance the income of farmers. He also expressed hope that the export of organic produce from the state would increase in the coming days.
