Krishnapur, Nov 10: A BJP joining meeting was held on Sunday at the shed house of Mungiakami Bazar under the initiative of the 29 Krishnapur Mandal, jointly organized by Ramakrishnapur and Atharomura Shaktikendra.
During the programme, 186 voters from 56 families belonging to Tipra Motha and other opposition parties officially joined the BJP. Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma welcomed the new members by handing over the party flag.
Among those present were Rashid Mia, President of BJP Khowai District Minority Morcha, and Watharai Malsum, General Secretary of 29 Krishnapur Mandal, along with other party leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Bikas Debbarma said that the people-oriented development projects initiated by the Central and State governments under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Manik Saha have reached even remote tribal areas. He added that the visible progress in sectors such as education, health, road connectivity, and housing has inspired people in the hills to join the BJP voluntarily.
