2-day Central Trade Unions sponsored strike has no impact in Tripura

The Central Trade Unions, including in the coal, steel, oil, telecom, banks and insurance sectors, began their two-day “Bharat Bandh on Monday.

Markets, shops and business establishments, government and semi-government offices, and financial and educational institutions remained open in the state. Road traffic was normal.

There was no picketing in the city, bus terminuses and railway stations, as a result, the movement of vehicles, local trains and activities in the markets were almost normal.

The flow of daily wage earners coming from outskirts to the city has no visible impact.

However, police headquarters sources said that adequate security measures have been put in place to keep the life normal across the state.

The mobilisation of forces in sensitive locations was steeped up since last night to foil any tension and peace breaking move from any corner.
