Agartala, July 20: Sensation prevailed in the AD nagar TV Tower area of Agartala on Sunday after the body of a 21-year-old woman was recovered from a rented house.
The deceased has been identified as Asmita Riang, a resident of Khedachhara in Damchhara. She was a second-year student of Women’s College.
According to reports, her body was found in a rented house owned by Manik Bhowmik in Gali No. 4 of the AD nagar TV Tower area. On receiving the information, personnel from AD nagar Police Station rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation.
Police have detained a young man who was reportedly with the woman at the time of the incident. He has been taken to the police station for questioning.
The exact cause of the woman’s death is yet to be ascertained. Police have launched a detailed investigation, and further action will be taken based on the findings.
