3rd Event of Tripura Tourism Promo Fest Held at Vanghmun, Jampui

The third event of the Tripura Tourism Promo Fest-2024 was held yesterday at Vanghmun in Jampuihill, Kanchanpur subdivision of North Tripura district. Tourism Minister Sushant Chowdhury inaugurated the event, highlighting the state’s natural beauty and cultural diversity as vital assets for developing the tourism industry.

The festival, organized by the Department of Tourism, aims to showcase Tripura’s tourism potential to a global audience. Speaking at the event, the tourism minister noted that the first two events of the promo fest were successfully conducted at Narikelkunja and Neermahal. “Tripura has immense potential for tourism development. Initiatives have been taken for infrastructural improvements at tourist centers, increasing tourist inflow and creating employment opportunities.

Efforts are also underway to develop home-stay facilities at various tourist destinations, he said. Emphasizing the unique appeal of Jampuihill, the state’s only hill station, the minister assured further steps to enhance its tourism prospects.Industry and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, also present at the event, lauded the Tourism Department for organizing the festival in Jampuihill and called for leveraging the area’s natural beauty to strengthen the tourism sector. Tourism Department Secretary UK Chakma delivered the welcome address, while Jampuihill BAC Chairman Chungnunga presided over the function.

Prominent attendees included North Tripura Zilla Parishad Chairperson Aparna Nath, MLA Philip Kumar Reang and MLA Pramod Reang, ADC Executive Member Bhabha Ranjan Reang, MDC Bhumika Nanda Reang andMDC Shailendra Nath, Laljuri BAC Chairman Ajanta Kumar Chowdhury, Tourism Department Director Prashant Badal Negi, North Tripura District ADM L Darlong, and Kanchanpur SDM Dr. Deepak Kumar. The festival showcased captivating cultural performances, including music, Cherawdance, and the traditional Hojagiri dance, performed by local and renowned artistes from across the state.
