Agartala Government Medical College has secured 131 rank among 823 Medical Colleges in the country as per the International Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) 2026.

The latest rankings of medical colleges across the country shows the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, securing the top position followed by Madras Medical College, Chennai (2nd) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) at 3rd position.

The IIRF rankings access the institutions across multiple parameters including teaching, learning resources, research output, industry integration, placement performance, future orientation and external perception.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Prof (Dr) Manik Saha has taken up massive transformation of Agartala Government Medical College and GB Pant Hospital to make it as the Centre of Excellence in the medical field.

Due to sustained development of infrastructure, recruitment of highly qualified faculties and research collaboration with reputed institutions like AIIMS Delhi, Mohan Foundation, ICMR, Jhpiego, Agartala Government Medical College has earned its rightful place in the national rankings.

This is very significant step in the development of health sector of the State where there is huge potential for making Tripura as Regional Health Hub.
