Ahmedabad, July 28: Air India is facing explosive allegations concerning its role and response in the Ahmedabad plane crash tragedy. Amidst these accusations, the airline has disbursed an initial financial assistance of ₹25 lakh each to the families of 147 deceased passengers.

According to Air India, documents of 52 more families are currently under review. The airline assured that upon verification, these families will also receive ₹25 lakh each as interim relief.

Meanwhile, the Gujarat administration has confirmed that at least 265 people have died in the crash so far, with several others seriously injured.

In an earlier announcement, Air India committed to providing ₹1 crore as total financial compensation to the families of each deceased victim.

Investigations into the crash and related responsibilities are ongoing.
