The brutal murder of a young man just minutes away from Amtali police station on Friday morning caused a stir. The dead person is identified as Sayan Bhowmik who worked as a clerk at a local TV store.
He had an argument with Samrat Debnath, an employee of a tire shop located next to his shop. As a result of this incident, Samrat attacked Sayan Bhowmik inside his shop first with a machete and then hit him on the head.
In this incident, the Samrat killed Sayan on the spot. After killing him, the accused stood in front of the shop with the weapon for some time. No one dared to catch him. Later, the crowd gathered in the market informed the police.
The police of Amtali police station quickly rushed to the spot and arrested the accused and recovered the bloody body of Sayan Bhowmik and sent it to Hapania Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
West District Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar K, who was present at the scene, expressed his reaction in this regard.
It is known that the deceased Sayan Bhowmik’s house is in the Shivnagar area of Durganagar, Bishalgarh. Accused Samrat Debnath’s house in the area adjacent to Hapaia Medical College Hospital.
In view of this incident, a written complaint has been submitted against the accused at Amtali police station on behalf of the deceased’s family.
Notably, several cases were filed against the accused in the same police station earlier.
