The Left Front has expressed concern over the alleged absence of VVPAT machines in the upcoming elections, reiterating its demand for the use of VVPATs alongside Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

According to party leaders, only EVMs—without VVPAT units—have reportedly been brought in from Madhya Pradesh.

Speaking on behalf of the State Left Front Committee, Manik Dey voiced apprehension over the situation, stating that the development has created a “mysterious” atmosphere ahead of the polls. He emphasized that the use of VVPATs in conjunction with EVMs is essential to ensure transparency and fairness in the electoral process.

Dey further urged the Election Commission of India to provide a clear explanation regarding the matter.
