Agartala, Tripura: The Officer-in-Charge of Amtali Police Station, Paritosh Das, on Sunday afternoon disclosed details of the brutal murder of Subrata Chowdhury, who was allegedly killed by slitting his throat on Saturday night. The incident occurred in the Babul Chowmuhani area of West Durgapur under the jurisdiction of Amtali Police Station.

OC Paritosh Das stated that the police arrested one of the accused, identified as Shankhu Chakraborty, on Saturday night itself. Based on a complaint filed the same night, a murder case has been registered under the relevant sections of law.

He further informed that investigations revealed the involvement of several other accused, including Ninto Chakraborty and Priyatosh Chowdhury, along with Shankhu Chakraborty. Police raids are underway, and the remaining accused are expected to be arrested soon.

According to the police, the murder was the result of previous enmity between the victim and the accused. On Sunday, the arrested accused Shankhu Chakraborty was produced before the court, where police sought a five-day remand for further interrogation.
