Rajib Bhattacharjee, the BJP state president visited Unakoti District’s areas on Tuesday.
He alleged that the CPIM and Congress are trying to create a chaotic situation in the state before the counting of votes, as they have realised that a humiliating defeat is inevitable.
BJP state president appealed to CPIM and Congress to avoid such activities as well as warned of stern action if they continue with violent activities.
Rajib Bhattacharjee visited the areas where the violence took place on Saturday. Minister Bhagaban Chandra Das and other BJP leaders of Unakoti district accompanied him.
Notably, at least 20 persons, supporters of both CPIM and BJP became injured in the incident.
Bhattacharjee visited the house of Rupak Kairi, a BJP worker who was injured during the clash and assured that the party will be beside him.
While speaking to reporters, Rajib Bhattacharjee said, “It is unfortunate that the Congress and CPIM are trying to deteriorate the law and order situation in a planned way”.
He urged the BJP workers to maintain peace in the state and not to step into the trap of provocation. Besides, he said if Congress and CPI(M) continue to create provocation appropriate actions will be taken.
