In a joint operation carried out by BSF and Tripura police, three Indian and five Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended from Jalkumbha, Sabroom in south Tripura district today.
All the three Indian nationals who were apprehended while crossing the border, are residents of Baikhora, South Tripura district, whereas, Bangladeshi nationals are residents of village Jagannath, under Ramgarh police station in Khagrachari in Bangladesh. A BSF press statement said this.
BSF said the preliminary inquiry is going on, adding that the border guards have intensified a high level of alertness in the international border to prevent infiltration to India.
