CBI team in Tripura in connection with investigation of chit fund case

CBI officials took possession of nine computers during Income Tax chit fund investigation on Wednesday.

Notably, during the regime of the Left government, several cases were filed against multiple chit fund companies in the state.

The responsibility of investigating these cases was later transferred to the CBI.
The case involving Income Tax Chit Fund Company was initially registered in the state in 2013, which is currently being investigated by the CBI.

According to trustworthy sources, on Tuesday night, a CBI officer, Debandra Kumar Arya went to Agartala West police station and seized the CPUs of nine computers, which were seized by the police during the investigation of the Income Tax case.

The CBI has obtained these official materials from the state police as they are required for the next phase of the investigation.
