Agartala, Feb 3: Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Ashish Kumar Saha on Monday termed the Union Budget as “directionless” and disappointing, particularly for the North Eastern region.

Addressing a press conference at the Pradesh Congress Bhavan, Saha said the conventional budget would fail to provide any clear direction for the country’s economic growth.

He alleged that the budget lacks concrete measures to generate employment and warned that job opportunities are likely to shrink under its provisions.

He further stated that the budget has not addressed the specific needs and developmental concerns of the North Eastern states, calling it a setback for the region.

Pradesh spokesperson Prabir Chakraborty and Pradesh Vice President Pritha Debpal were also present at the press conference.
