Tipra Motha Delegation Meets CBSE Chairman, Demands Roman Script for Kokborok

Agartala, Feb 3: A delegation of Tipra Motha met CBSE Chairman Rahul Sinha in New Delhi on January 29, demanding the introduction of the Roman script for the Kokborok language in the education system.


During the meeting, the delegation discussed the future of the Kokborok language and its application in the academic sphere. They emphasized the need for adopting the Roman script to ensure wider acceptance and convenience for students studying Kokborok.


Addressing a press conference in the capital on Monday, members of the delegation shared details of their discussion with the CBSE Chairman. They reiterated their demand and expressed hope for a positive response from the authorities.


At the same press conference, Tipra Motha leaders strongly criticized the role of the Chairman of the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) over the ongoing controversy surrounding the script used in examinations. They alleged that the issue has created confusion among students and urged the authorities to resolve the matter at the earliest.
