Chief Minister Dr. Saha, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma, MLA Ratan Chakraborty and many others inspected the Kharchi festival and fair on Monday.
Chief Minister Dr. Saha inaugurated the festival and fair.
On the occasion, Tribal Welfare Department’s Minister Bikas Debbarma said in the event that the tribals and general public of the state have been observing the traditions of religion, art and culture in their own way.
He added that the state government has taken initiatives for the development of culture and culture of all sections.
In his welcome speech at the opening ceremony, MLA Ratan Chakraborty, chairman of the Kharchi festival committee said that the Kharchi festival has now become a meeting place with the arrival of lakhs of pilgrims for 7 days.
MLA Chakraborty added CCTV, TSR jawans and plain uniform police have been deployed to protect the visitors at this year’s Kharchi Mela.
He hoped that this year’s Kharchi Festival will eclipse all past records and create a new history.
